Students in class 11.2, at the Salgueiro Maia School Center - Santarém- present one of the city's famous monuments - The Convento de S. Francisco.The Franciscans started the construction of the convent of S. Fransico in the reign of D. Sancho II.
The building has in its stucture marked traces of the various eras.
From the Gothic to the Baroque
style, passing through the Manueline and Renaissance.
It is visible the spaciousness, high
spans based on thin pillars and rare and sober sculptural ornamentation.
