Event "Responsible Citizens"

Today was the day of the eTwinning event "Responsible Citizens".

Class 6 of Mergulhão Basic School participated, throughout the year, in the eTwinning project "Responsible Citizens a Healthy World". In this project, the theme was the natural landscape of the place where they lived and its preservation. To collect information, they carried out a study visit to the city and researched information on web pages. Using the photographs taken during the visit and the information collected, they built a book and digital posters together with the other participating classes. For Christmas, they created Happy Holidays postcards reusing waste material. Finally, they painted t-shirts using the stencil technique. This last activity, despite being very laborious, was the one that most pleased the students.

Today, they visited the classes at their school where they presented the project in which they participated and paraded around with the t-shirts they had painted.

S. FRANCISCO CONVENT - Class 11.2 - Centro Escolar Salgueiro Maia

Students in class 11.2, at the Salgueiro Maia School Center - Santarém- present one of the city's famous monuments - The Convento de S. Francisco. The Franciscans started the construction of the convent of S. Fransico in the reign of D. Sancho II.

The building has in its stucture marked traces of the various eras.

From the Gothic to the Baroque style, passing through the Manueline and Renaissance.

It is visible the spaciousness, high spans based on thin pillars and rare and sober sculptural ornamentation.
